The Green Challenge

OK, I’ve been tagged by Janick so I have to write what I am doing to introduce environmental sustainability into my daily life. Its 3 days past Blog Action Day but hey, I’ve been busy doing ecodesign so, I have an excuse. So here it is, aside from the mandatory “recycling-reusing-blogging” bit.

1- I buy organic fruits and veg from Le Jardin des anges who incidentally, deliver their goods in compostable bags. I mostly buy organic and local meat, local cheeses and have almost stopped entirely buying bottled water.

2- I don’t own a car and I use my bike 8 months a year. When there’s ice, I take public transportation.

3- I don’t own a home printer. I do all my presentations on my laptop, and I when I need to print, I send my PDFs to my friendly neighborhood Mac place and then walk 3 blocks to go get my printouts.

4- I have co-founded a not-for-profit ecodesign company. We have just completed our market research and are just about ready to change the world, one brand at a time.

5- I have created a line of sustainable bags and t-shirts made from recycled. I am about to launch a line of reusable gift packaging... stay tuned!

6- I use a Diva cup.

7- I will be giving a conference about a sustainable design experiment made from packaging in France, in December

8- I try to take my vacations locally.

9- When I design websites for clients, I always suggest that they go with Eco Hosting.

10- I use maple syrup to sweeten my life.

Umm.. there’s probably more, but that’s all I can think of for now.
